else和other的区别

　　１.共同点：一是含义基本相同，“别的，其他的”；二是都可以作定语。
　　２.不同点：一是词性不同；二是被修饰的词不同；三是与被修饰词的位置关系不同。
　　３.两词都是“其他的；其余的”的意思。other修饰名词，且放在名词前面。else修饰不定代词或wh-疑问词，且放在所修饰词的后面。如：Where's my other sock? 我的另一只袜子在哪儿？I had nothing else to do. 我没有其他事可做。What else do I need to do? 我还需要做什么事？
　　４.other 和 else 都是形容词，但用法不同；都可以作定语，但位置不一样。和很多形容词一样，other 表示别的，放在名词之前；else 也是个形容词，但是它常用来修饰不定代词、疑问词，而且 else 放在修饰的词后面！
比如，你不能说 else books（×），你只能说 other books；不能说 else someone，你只能说 someone else，汉语说 “别的啥”，英语说“what else”
　　５.所有格不同，注意两种表达“别的”，再用到所有格的时候，又有不同：比如
别的学生的：other students'
别的某人的：someone else's
It's nobodyelse's. It's just mine. 不是别人的，正好是我的。
也就是说，用 other 的时候，所有格符号 ‘s 或者 ’加在名词后面，用else的时候，加在 else 后面。

What else do you want?你还需要其他的什么吗？
Do you have any other questions?你还有其它问题吗？
Lily alone has come, all the other girls are late. 只有丽丽来，别的女孩都迟到了。
I have two pens. One is red, the other one is blue.我有两支钢笔，一支是红色的，另一支是蓝色的。

　　else的用法

(1)The company offered the job to someone else.公司把这工作给别人了。
(2)I 'd rather he was married to somebody else.我宁愿他同别的人结婚。
(3)Where else might i find this book?别的什么地方我能找到这本书呢？
(4)There was something else bothering him.其实他的心里还另有个疙瘩。
(5)He prized it beyond everything else.他爱惜这件东西胜过其他一切。

　　other的用法

(1)Where's my other glove?我的那只手套在哪儿?
(2)John and the others are here.约翰和其他人都在这儿。
(3)I haven't brought many cakes. Could you get some others?我没有多买糕点，你有多余的吗？
(4)Think of others as well as yourself.不仅要想到自己，也要想到别人。
(5)My other sister is a doctor.我的另一个妹妹是医生。
